F rançois-Xavier Lalanne gives free rein to his overflowing imagination by sketching an untameable, funny, and poetic animal world.

The collection spans almost 40 years of history, from the 1970's to 2008, and showcases a variety of drawing techniques: watercolour, pencil, ink, and gouache. It comprises finished works, simple sketches, and unpublished projects for fountains and armchairs, all waiting to be discovered.

François-Xavier was also a talented engraver and the sale presents the most important group of his prints ever seen at auction.
