Italian distributors historically have manipulated a film's title to best promote it. In this case, the literal translation of the Italian title is King Kong's Challenge. Although the film is not about King Kong, the distributors have used his fame to try and lure audiences into the cinema to see this film, along with a scantily clad woman !

To-date this is the only example of this poster that has surfaced.

This American film was directed by Sam Newfield. The cast includes Richard Fraser, Maris Wrixon and Lionel Royce. Ray Corrigan, a Hollywood actor and athlete, played the gorilla White Pongo. Corrigan had played a similar role earlier that year in The White Gorilla. This film is about how hunters and scientists try and find the ferocious White Pongo, an albino gorilla, who they believe could be the missing evolutionary link between ape and man.
