modelled as a gilded kneeling female figure in sarafan and kokoshnik, supporting a two-handled teacup with a dark blue ground below a gilded leaf and scrollwork border, the cover similarly decorated, marked under base with green factory mark and incised 2.

The present lot is based on a model by Stepan Pimenov (1784-1833), master modeller at the Imperial Porcelain Factory during the reign of Alexander I.
