The cabinetmaking firm of Robert Strahan and Co. was founded in Dublin in 1776, with workshops in 10-11 Chancery Lane, and by 1815 a new premises was opened at 24-25 Henry Street followed by 5 Leinster Street in 1845. They exhibited at the Dublin Great Industrial Exhibition of 1853 and eventually moved to Abbey Street in 1870, where they continued trading for another century until 1969.
