bronze, dark brown patina
22.5cm., 8 7/8 in.
The present figure was conceived by Dalou as a sketch for the monument of La Fraternité (or, La République), which Dalou worked on intermittently from 1882 until his death; in 1908, a marble version was executed by one of his assistants.
