Commissioned by Don Luis Francisco de la Cerda Fernández de Córdova Folch de Cardona y Aragón (1660–1711), 9th Duke of Medinaceli, in circa 1700;
Thence by descent to his nephew Don Nicolás Fernández de Córdoba y de la Cerda (1682–1739), 10th Duke of Medinaceli, listed in his palace in Priego, Cordoba, by 1711;
Thence by descent until acquired by a private collector in 2011;
By whom offered, London, Replica Shoes 's, 9 December 2015, lot 39 and from whom acquired the following year by private treaty through Replica Shoes ’s for the present collection.
