of arched rectangular form applied with a double-doored ark enclosing a Torah Scroll flanked by chased floral swags and columns pierced with birds on gilt ground, all below a gilt crown supported by lions rampant (one missing) at the base a pair of gilt stags supporting an inscribed shield, serrated leaf-tip outer rim

marked near base with maker’s mark ? Chaim & Blech and 12

The inscription at the base of the columns reads: “You shall make a frontlet of pure gold and engrave on it the seal inscription: ‘Holy to God’” [Ex. 28:36].

At center below: “The year [5]597 [1836-1837].”
