The present lot depicts a Seder, with people seated around the table, a Haggadah open in front of the leader of the Seder, and special dishes on the table. The inscription at lower right, translated as "This is the bread of affliction," is taken from the beginning of the Passover Seder. The inscription along the lower edge, "When Israel went forth from Egypt", is taken from Psalm 114:1, which is recited at the Passover Seder and illustrated in the bottom left panel, where the exodus from Egypt is illustrated by Egyptians chasing the Israelites on horseback.
