A large famille-rose ‘three rams’ vase
Qing dynasty, Jiaqing-Daoguang period
with ovoid body sweeping up to a waisted neck and flared rim, flanked by a pair of iron red dragon handles, decorated around the body in soft enamels with a continuous scene of three goats in a meadow beneath overhanging trees, amidst peonies, asters and nandinia berries, all between two borders of ruby-ground ruyi encircling the shoulder and base, the neck with large lotus wreathed in scrolling foliage on a ruby-red ground between yellow upright leaves and turquoise ruyi at the rim, the base with an apocryphal iron-red Qianlong mark
