sheet: 650 by 455 mm. 25⅝ by 18 in.

Executed in 1899, this impression is presumably an unrecorded proof of the second (final) state, aside from the second edition of 112 printed on China or Japan papers.

The present impression is printed on a large sheet of B.F.K. Rives wove paper with wide margins. In contrast to the published edition, issued on a smaller sheet, this impression preserves the full extent of the image, with all edges visible and registration marks retained in the upper and lower margins. The composition itself varies from the published state, most notably in the colouring of the horse at the foreground and in the treatment of the sky.
