Compare a closely related beaker painted with the same scene of Kangxi mark and period, in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, illustrated by Rose Kerr, Chinese Ceramics. Porcelains of the Qing Dynasty, London, 1986, pl. 41, who describes it as 'decorated in a singular style by first rate painters' and notes that the shape is a revival of a classic Ming form of the Jiajing period.
