A VICTORIAN SILVER-PLATED CENTERPIECE AND PAIR OF SIMILAR SALVERS, GEORGE RICHMOND COLLIS, BIRMINGHAM, CIRCA 1846


the centerpiece crested on each side of triform base, supporting three putti picking grapes into a wine barrel, the grapevine stem topped by openwork basket and cut-glass bowl, with original wood travelling case with brass handles and plaque engraved Henry Smith Esq.; the salvers with openwork grapevine rims and crested within an engraved rococo border topped by a fruit basket

marked on barrel of centerpiece and bases of salvers, salvers also stamped G.R. Collis & Co /Manufacturer / Church St. Birm.m

overall height of centerpiece 24¾ in.; diameter of salvers 12¼ in.
