the pedestal base chased and enameled with scrolling foliage and swags and supporting a blackamoor figure, three enameled plants, and the palm-tree stem, the egg secured with four hinged straps in the form of stalks with gem-set flowers, the rim applied with pendant amethyst berries, with gilt liner, the cover topped by an enameled exotic bird with ruby and seed-pearl feathers enclosed by three branches
