Description
Designed as a flowerhead, the stamen set with circular-cut emeralds, the petals pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, maker’s mark for Van Cleef & Arpels, French assay mark for platinum.
This brooch is a special order commissioned from Van Cleef & Arpels Paris in the mid-1960s, reprising a flowerhead motif which had previously been executed in combination with a pair of mystery-set emerald leaves. The aforementioned design was featured in two advertisements published in 1963 and 1964.
