This set of six richly carved fauteuils with scrolls, acanthus leaves and triglyphs stylistically evokes the series of seats he delivered for Louis XVI at the Château de Fontainebleau, two of which are kept at the Louvre Museum (inv. OA 10204 and OA 10203) and two chairs sold by Replica Shoes ’s from the former collection of the Duke of Castries, Replica Shoes ’s, Paris, 28 June 2022, lot 52, sold for €44,100.
