Aron Gent is an artist, gallerist, and professional print maker, the Director/Founder of the printing studio and gallery DOCUMENT, co-director of the exhibition cooperative Paris London Hong Kong, and a board member for the ACRE Residency and Society for Contemporary Art, Chicago. His primary medium is ink, and he most frequently utilizes the dregs that are found in “empty,” spent, or finished cartridges from the commercial printers in his studio. Gent extracts and applies or blows the material to produce ephemeral (and often serial) monoprints, while subverting the conceptual value of what defines an object as a printer.
Gent’s work has been exhibited at the Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago; the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago; and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Singapore among others.
