Description

The Beatles

Set of Signatures, 31st March-15th April 1964

signed by all four Beatles in red ball point on the verso of a ‘Scala & Fortune Theatres’ postcard (139 x 90mm) between 31 March and 15 April 1964, the signatures in portrait format, the front of the card inscribed in an unknown hand in blue ink ‘SCALA THEATRE STAFF | CLEANER: MRS KING’ and signed by an unknown person, the card intended to act as a cleaner’s pass, the card has been folded in half resulting in a pronounced central crease line; some blue ink has bled through from the front to the verso and is visible in between the John Lennon and George Harrison signatures, also less pronounced but visible on the Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr signatures; some very light wear to corners and edges

The Beatles were filming ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ at the Scala Theatre, Charlotte Street, London between 23 and 31 March where the finale performance was filmed in front of a live audience
