Introduced at the Swiss Watch Fair in Basel in 1950, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s alarm wristwatch has enjoyed decades of continuous production, making the Memovox a cornerstone of the JLC.
While the Reverso is often regarded as the most iconic design produced by the company, the Memovox stands out as a model that continuously evolved over the decades, remaining to this day the longest-running series in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s history.
The design is intuitive, featuring a second crown to operate the alarm function and a small triangle at the center of the dial. The Breguet numerals on this example were likely added during restoration, which, along with supporting documents, confirms that the watch has undergone a recent full service.
The present example comes with a 'Starz' auction Certificate of Authenticity stating that this was an 'official item from the production of Magic City, worn by Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played Ike Evans'.
