Founded in 2012, HYT is a daring independent manufacture that has risen to the spotlight of the watch world thanks to an unusual use of bellows-driven fluid mechanics to display retrograde hours on the outermost portion of its dials. Recognized officially by the watch community, the brand’s very first creation, the H1, was awarded the Innovation Watch Prize at the 2012 GPHG.
The reference H00002-A H1 is a circa-2013 variant of that lauded and awarded H1 design. Here, the hour-depicting fluid is rendered in a vibrant green. The H1 boasts over 8 technological patents and 1 patent for design. The model was developed in partnership with Jean-François Mojon and Preciflex, with a focus on fluid operation. This innovative t.mes -telling technique is achieved via two reservoirs located at 6 o’clock. One compresses the liquid whilst the other expands it. As the hours go by, the liquid runs through a tube indicating the hours, while a dial positioned at 12 o’clock indicates the minutes.
