Description

Old Taylor Bottled in Bond 100 Proof 1916

Distilled Fall 1916, bottled Fall 1933, bottled in bond by American Medicinal Spirits Company, produced by E. H. Taylor Jr. & Sons Incorporated, Distillery No. 53, Kentucky, tax strip is slightly nicked, Walgreens Co. prescription label fully intact but unadhered, back label is crinkled, original carton is damaged and top flap is torn off

Old Taylor was the core whiskey label for the Old Taylor Distillery, located just outside Frankfort, Kentucky. The legendary Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. established the distillery in the late 1800s after losing control of his Old Fashioned Copper Distillery, today known as Buffalo Trace. Upon opening, Old Taylor was state of the art, with up-to-date distilling equipment, manicured gardens, and pools dotting the landscape. The distillery continued production through Prohibition, being one of the few distilleries permitted to continue bottling its own whiskey.
