Description

Bowmore 50 Year Old 40.7 abv 1961

Distilled in December 1961, cask type: ex bourbon, bottle #196 of 200, etched glass bottle with silver collar, includes original wooden presentation case, leaflet, and linen pouch

This whisky is designed to be admired, then savoured in front of the fire at Christmas. Distilled in December 1961, this whisky is a marriage of two ex-bourbon hogsheads that lay maturing for 50 years in Bowmore’s No1 Vaults on Islay and yielded only 200 bottles. It is not just the liquid in the bottle that is special, but also the bottle itself. This glass was hand blown by the artists at Glasstorm studio, the silver collar and lid crafted by Fattorini Silversmiths, and to house this inimitable bottle none other than Peter Toaig was commissioned to create a wooden case made from Scottish Elmwood.

1 bottle 70cl (original presentation case)
