Description

Château Montrose 2012

St. Estèphe, 2ème Cru Classé

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. The long, slow maceration has delivered a superb wine. There is real complexity in the wings here. Lovely tempting fruit with great structure underneath and a beautiful silky texture. In 2016, immediately very true to the appellation and very 'marine Montrose'. There is sweetness with the tannin, very well made in the classic/traditional style. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
