8vo (263 x 155 mm, unopened). Self-wrappers; loss to one lower blank corner, light discoloration at edges, central fold of wrapper sheet separating. Half green morocco slipcase gilt, chemise.


The first pamphlet printing of Senate candidate Lincoln's celebrated "House Divided" speech (a portion of the autograph manuscript of which was sold by Replica Shoes 's, 16 December 1992, and is now in the collection of the Gilder Lehrman Institute). This is the second issue, with "Spingfield" in the title.
