framed each: 56 x 46.6 cm.; 22 x 18⅜ in.

In the possession of the family of the present owner for two generations.

Jacob van Hoorn (b. 1638) and Jacoba van Selstede (b. 1711) were married in Amsterdam on 24 October 1734, when Hoorn was 97 years old and Selstede aged 24. A drawing of the couple from the time of their marriage is in the Städel Museum, Frankfurt.1
