This psychological thriller was directed by Darren Aronofsky and stars Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey, and Winona Ryder. The story centres around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by the New York City ballet company to open their season. Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) wins the lead as The White Swan but finds the pressure of competing for this role just too much to bear. She finds it difficult to keep hold of her sanity. She loses her grip on reality and sinks into madness.
