A set of twelve hand-coloured prints of parrots after George Edwards (1694-1773) and the engravings by Johann Sebastian Leitner (1715-1795)
in modern marginal frames with glazed foliate print reserves
overall including frames 43.5cm. by 35.5cm.; 1ft. 4 ¾in., 1ft. 2in.
These plates are after those published by Johann Michael Seligmann’s in his French edition of A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, and of some other Rare and Undescribed Animals, Quadrapeds, Reptiles, Fishes, Insects, &c., Nuremberg, circa 1770-1773.
