A spinach-green jade ruyi scepter

Qing dynasty, 19th century

清十九世紀 碧玉雕靈芝如意


carved as a gnarled branch with a lingzhi-form head, the branch with a chilong clambering upwards and smaller undercut twisted stems issuing further lingzhi, the head of the scepter with attendant lingzhi and a small bat, the emerald and apple-green stone variegated with darker streaks


Length 16 ⅛ in., 41 cm
