rectangular, the lid carved with a party of celebrating hunters in a landscape framed by rich scrolling foliage including a big flower vase, a cornucopia and stylised shells, the sides carved with horses, including two pulling a hay cart, the reverse with a martial trophy, the cagework mounts with stylised leaves, doublé lining, maker's mark, further struck '16' for the proportion of gold, Paris petite garantie for 1819-38
