Charles Weaver trained at Worcester from about 1853 until he joined Copelands in 1869, where he worked on special productions until 1877.
The crest is associated to the Scottish Clan MacFarlane. Macfarlane claim descent from Giolchrist brother of the 13th Earl of Lennox, who held territories at the head of Loch Lomond. The Macfarlanes distinguished themselves at the Battle of Langside in 1568 fighting against Queen Mary. The crest as it was originally designed, consists of a demi-savage holding a sheaf of arrows in his raised dexter (right) hand and pointing to the crown of James VI with his sinister (left) hand.
