the body overlaid with a white silver sleeve pierced and chased with flowering foliage surrounded by three embossed scenes of fanciful birds in landscapes, the cover with similar applied disc pierced with foliage and birds and with spread-winged swan finial, scroll handle with forked thumbpiece and shield terminal, bold gadroon borders, assembled with nuts and bolts, marked on base rim with unclear monogram make’s mark CPL or D, town mark not clear, also stamped incuse 4
