7 volumes (6 volumes text and atlas), 4to (10 1/4 x 7 3/8 in.; 262 x 188 mm) and folio (21 1/4 x 13 3/8 in.; 540 x 340 mm). Half-title to each volume, decorative head- and tailpieces, 77 engraved plates, portraits and maps, a few folding, and 9 folding tables, atlas with 38 engraved plates, some double-page and/or folding, and 16 printed tables; minor toning and foxing.
Contemporary quarter brown calf over marbled boards by René Simier, spines with raised bands in five compartments, gilt-lettered morocco labels to second and fourth, others with repeat overall decoration in gilt, edges marbled, marbled endpapers; some rubbing to extremities, a few joints just starting.
A fine uniform set of both Russie ancienne (3 volumes) and Russie moderne (3 volumes), with the spines numbered 1-3 (twice), and with the atlas bound to match.
