8vo (8 1/8 x 5 in.; 206 x 127mm). Engraved portrait-frontispiece, advertisement leaf at end, fly-leaf at end with the figure of Liberty blindstamped in black; slight browning, minor foxing. Full red morocco, bound for Thomas Hollis by John Matthewman after designs by Cipriani, upper cover with figure of Britannia, lower cover with an owl sejant, spine with the wand of Aesculapius, all edges marbled, endleaves marbled: some rubbing to extremities, corners a bit bumped.
