Description
Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de Blancs 1995
Sealed oc, in original tissues, importer's details on back labels in Traditional Chinese
Grapes from Cramant, Avize, Le Mesnil, Chouilly, Oger and from old vines in Pierry go into this gem. 5% of the wines used in the blend are aged in oak barrels, one-third of which are replaced every year. A lovely floral nose leads to a lovely, fine vanilla taste that will develop its characteristic nutty finish with bottle age. It seems to have reached maturity. Now buttery and full, there is even a hint of caramel. Revel in it! In 2011, very true, strong Chardonnay character on the nose. Very "sweet" fruit on the palate. Beautiful, full, balanced Champagne, round in the mouth - like eating peaches. Finishes so elegantly. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
