A Meissen porcelain figure group of Orestes and Pylades, 19th century
after a model by C. G. Jüchtzer
35.5cm high, 21.5cm wide; 1ft. 2in., 8½in.
The present group represents Orestes with his friend and cousin, Plyades. Here they are depicted before the statue of Artemis which Orestes was tasked by Apollo to seize from the temple in Tauris.
