i. Guillim, John. A display of heraldrie. London: printed by William Hall for Raphe Mab, 1611, FIRST EDITION, second issue, folio (283 x 182mm.), numerous woodcut illustrations, calf gilt by Riviere, gilt edges, a few leaves at end slightly smaller

ii. another copy. with hand colouring but lacking some leaves and with others defective

iii. Upton, Nicholas. De studio militari libri quatuor. London: Roger Norton for John Martin and James Allestrye, 1654, 3 parts, folio (298 x 185mm.), engraved illustrations, 2 double-page engraved plates, engraved portrait of Henry Spelman, with blank leaf T4, manuscript index loosely inserted at end, contemporary speckled calf, spine gilt in compartments, binding somewhat worn
