Christie's, Geneva, 15 May 1985, lot 91.

The arms are those of Theophilus Hastings, 9th Earl of Huntingdon (1696-1746) who succeeded to the earldom after the early death by fever of his half-brother George in 1705.

He went on the Grand Tour in 1724 and married Lady Shirley Selina, daughter of 2nd Earl Ferrers in 1728. The couple lived at Donnington Hall, Leicestershire.
