Burt photographed many a famous face during his long career from Castro to Khrushchev to Andy Warhol.

He met Lesley Hornby the model better known as Twiggy and took one of the great photos of her. The wide eyed face of the 1960’s is captured here against a stark, black backdrop that allows her iconic features to take center stage.


Burt was a master technician as well as being an inspiring human being to be around. He was able to relax his subjects and get close to his sitters not often an easy task.
