An Egyptian Bronze Figure of a Lion-Headed Goddess

26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C.


enthroned with her right hand resting by her knee and formerly holding an implement in her left hand, and wearing a long close-fitting dress and striated tripartite wig surmounted by a uraeus and sun disk, the throne engraved on the back with a vulture above papyrus and lotus flowers, on one side with a falcon-headed god making an offering, a cartouche of Apries behind him, and on the other side with a king making an offering.
