A blue and white 'dragon and phoenix' bowl,
Mark and period of Jiajing
明嘉靖 青花團龍鳳紋盌 《大明嘉靖年製》款
with rounded sides resting on a slightly tapered foot, the exterior painted with four alternating dragon and phoenix medallions interspersed with ruyi-clouds, the interior centred with a gently raised medallion enclosing a leaping dragon and downward swooping phoenix, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark within a double circle
