A Fabergé silver-mounted bowenite inkwell, workmaster Julius Rappoport, St Petersburg, circa 1890
in Neo-Classical taste, the turned bowenite well on tripod support cast and chased with entrelac, rosettes, acanthus and hoof feet, the lid and base with gadrooned borders, fir cone finial, the interior rim with later inscription in Russian 'To V. N. Korchinskii/ Church Council of Simeon Stolpnik's Church' and dated 12 April 1925, struck inside the lid Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial warrant with workmaster's initials, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 9938
