Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar and Pakhal Tirumal Reddy studied together at the Sir J J School of Replica Handbags s in Bombay in the 1930s and became lifelong friends. They were both awarded fellowships at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 1976 and 1980 respectively, an honor marking a lifetime achievement in the visual arts.
