8vo (159 x 105 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: *8 A-Z8 AA-RR8: 328 leaves. Title within a woodcut cartouche including a depiction of the Pope praying at foot, woodcut Aldine device (surmounted by the Imperial Eagle) on verso of title-page, woodcut initials and headpieces, woodcut illustrations within frames. (Occasional light foxing or browning.)


binding: Near-contemporary dark brown morocco (167 x 115 mm), concentric frames composed of gilt and blind fillets with a four-petalled stamp and corners, same stamp in spine compartments, gilt edges, stubs from two pairs of ties. (Extremities very slightly rubbed.)
