The Croatian poet Sabo Bobaljević Mišetić (1529/30-1585) was one of a notable circle of poets and writers centered in Ragusa (Dubrovnik). This work is one of several printed by Aldo the younger with links to that city, where his brother Girolamo had died in 1559 aged 17, having been sent there the previous year by his father for health reasons.


4to (204 x 144 mm). Italic type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: *4 A-Y4: 92 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page, first word of title in woodcut cartouche, head- and tail-pieces, decorated initials, medallion portrait of Bobaljević on *4 verso, list of books for sale on verso of final leaf. (Lightly stained.)
