Acquired from the Artist.

Our environment and the beauty it creates are separate ideas to most people in our society. We enjoy the beauty of floral arrangement as an object in our homes failing to understand the purpose of flowers in our natural environment and the magic in our planet. This artwork shows the slow death of flowers in vases as a metaphor to the state of our planet. The abundance and magic of our planet is represented in a landscape painted in an impressionistic style in the distance beyond and behind a black marble tabletop that holds the vases on top. The petals are falling as we do nothing and watch the destruction of our planet earth. As a current maters student of Landscape Architecture, Lizette uses art to synthesize and express the emotions and inspiration she feels while she learns the importance of rethinking/ replanning the urban environments that humans live and work in.
