Founded in the mid-19th century by F.A. Jones, IWC has not only endured but thrived through some of the most pivotal moments in horological history—including both World Wars. Renowned for its innovation and craftsmanship, the brand is especially celebrated for its iconic Pilot’s Watches, most notably the Big Pilot. Beyond aviation-inspired designs, IWC also boasts a rich legacy of producing highly complicated timepieces.
One such creation is the Portugieser Tourbillon, a tribute to the brand’s heritage and its founder. This limited edition of just 50 pieces is powered by the hand-wound caliber 98900, an evolution of the legendary cal. 98 pocket watch movement from the 1930s. Housed in a 43mm pink gold case, the timepiece features a striking blue dial with applied Arabic numerals, a tourbillon at 9 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock, and F.A. Jones’ signature elegantly placed at 3 o’clock.
