A lacquered iko [kimono stand]
Edo period, 18th - 19th century
of typical form with detachable top and outer rails and base, decorated in gold and black hiramaki-e in Kodaiji style nashiji, with ivy (tsuta) and scrolling foliage, engraved copper fittings (kanagu) with ivy mon (tsuta mon)

Acquired by Freddie in Japan in the mid 1980s.
