Denise Ledoux-Lebard (Le mobilier français du XIXe siècle, Paris 1989, p. 558) lists a Rochard recorded in the Almanach du Commerce at 65, boulevard Beaumarchais in Paris from 1839 and then 5, boulevard du Temple in 1848, and another Rochard (possibly the same maker) nearby at 2, rue Neuve-du-Harley in 1839, all in the Bastille district.
A set of four mahogany chairs stamped F. ROCHARD. was sold at Hôtel Drouot, Paris on 27 June 1990, and a set of six chairs signed ROCHARD ET JEANSELME sold at Drouot on 14 November 1984, indicating Rochard worked at times with Jeanselme, the most important furniture-making workshop in Paris during the late Restauration, Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III eras.
