Mauboussin | Sapphire and Diamond Pendant-Brooch, France

Of geometric design, centering a sugarloaf sapphire weighing 11.76 carats, set throughout with old European-, calibré-, whistle-cut and baguette diamonds, the surmount and articulated lower plaque suspending fringe elements, signed Mauboussin, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1930.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 101716 dated August 27, 2018 stating that the sapphire is of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating. Together with a letter stating that this color variety of sapphire may also be called 'royal blue' based on SSEF reference standards, and attesting to the rarity and importance of the sapphire.
