At an incredible Fête des Rois dinner in 2020, drunk of course with La Galette des Rois which is my favourite 'sweet nothing' of all t.mes ! And this bottle was the best 1983 I have ever had, gorgeous in its freshness and citric beauty. There is a real peachiness to it, with silky purity and endless dimension of flavour. Some 1983s have a tarry botrytis element, but here there is zingy, zesty fruit to match the sweetness, with a finish that defies the clock. We were all stunned - this wine is destined for eternal life. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
