A Collection of Voyages and Travels, some now first printed from original manuscripts, others now first published in English... the third edition. London: printed by assignment by Messrs. Churchill for Henry Lintot and John Osborn, 1744 (first volume)-1752 (volumes 2-8)
8 volumes, folio (359 x 223 mm), title to volume 1 printed in red and black, 281 engraved plates, maps and plans (many folding), some woodcut or engraved illustrations in text, contemporary calf gilt, some spotting (heavier in fourth volume), neatly rebacked retaining original spines
A mixed edition: the first volume volume corresponds to the third edition (published between 1744 and 1747), whereas volumes 2-8, all dated 1752, are part of a later edition. An extensive collection of voyages to America, China, Turkey, Ceylon, Africa, India, Persia, and elsewhere.
